The Best Of 1990-2000 was first released in November 2002 as the second U2 compilation and the follow-up to the 1980-1990 retrospective. Shooting to No. 1 in 13 countries around the world, the 1990-2000 set included two newly-recorded songs, "Electrical Storm" and "The Hands That Built America," the second of which was written for and featured on the soundtrack to the 2002 Martin Scorsese film Gangs Of New York. A number of existing tracks were also remixed for the compilation by Mike Hedges. The Best of 1990-2000 has been fully remastered for this 2018 double 180g vinyl reissue and includes an accompanying download card. The release comes on the heels of newly remastered 180g vinyl configurations of Achtung Baby, Zooropa and The Best Of 1980-1990. These, in turn, followed the appearance in April of Wide Awake In America, Pop and All That You Can't Leave Behind.
